Garage doors

Sectional doors
Horizontal panels that lift straight up and run back along the ceiling, so you can park right up to the door. A good fit for wide double garages.
Tip-up doors
A single solid panel that tilts up and into the garage. Simple and sturdy, and a common choice for single garages.
Roll-up doors
Slatted doors that roll into a drum above the opening, leaving the ceiling clear for storage or lights.

Gate motors

Sliding gates
The motor sits beside the gate and drives it along a toothed rack. The usual choice for driveways with room for the gate to slide open.
Swing gates
Motor arms push and pull each leaf open and closed. For gates hung on hinges, single or double, where there's no room to slide.
